Special Events near Siesta Key Beach
Siesta Key Beaches are one of the most spectacular beaches anywhere. With sand literally as white as snow, it abounds with vacation excitement and atmosphere. Catch a wave on a jet ski or go parasailing. Sit and watch the large shore birds. Take in a round of golf amid palm trees, natural sand pits and lagoons. The Fourth of July packs the island with Siesta Key Beach special events from morning until the fireworks. Stay up late as local bars and restaurants celebrate.
For children there are always Siesta Key Beach Special Events. From the Mote Aquarium to the water parks, there is always something happening. During the summer, Siesta Key hosts a regular run for children to help them stay active and give them the thrill of a race down the beach.
For more Siesta Key Beach special events, try vacationing off season. Sarasota, the city mother of the island, hosts a jazz festival and an opera festival in March. The medieval fair is in Sarasota in November. Also in November, Venice beach holds its regular arts festival just a few minutes from Siesta Key. Venice is also known for its parade of lights on the water.
As a westernmost part of Florida, daylight doesn't wane until 9 p.m. or later on Siesta Key. And, when the sun sets over the Gulf, many call that the best of the Siesta Key Beach Special Events. In the summer you can join a special celebration of the sunset with the Siesta Key Drum Circle. This community percussion group plays regularly on Sundays. They start about an hour before sundown. On the south side of the main pavilion, look for them between lifeguard stands 3 and 4. The event is free and open to the public.
